I’m thrilled to meet you here! I’ve been passionate about yoga since 2012, when I started attending daily classes, sometimes 2+ hours a day. I’ve always thrived in a group fitness environment and taught weight lifting and cycling group fitness classes at LA Fitness for 3 years. In 2019, I combined my enjoyment for teaching fitness classes with my love for yoga and obtained my Registered Yoga Teacher certificate (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance through Hot Yoga University in Scottsdale, AZ. I was hired with the studio and taught heated yoga classes, as well as non-heated Vinyasa Flow yoga.
Since moving to Alexandria, VA, I have taught Vinyasa Flow yoga at Mount Vernon Recreation Center since June 2022. I also teach Vinyasa Flow yoga at Franconia Recreation Center in Alexandria, VA. Additionally, I teach high school teachers a Hatha focused yoga flow at West Potomac High School.
My core philosophies as a yoga instructor are:
- Yoga is for everyone. Yoga is for any body type and ability. Anyone can practice yoga, from children to those who are 100+ years old. If you’re human, you can be a yogi.
- Yoga benefits mental health as much as physical health. While yoga provides an excellent way to maintain mobility and strength as we age, it also helps students become more mindful and relaxed. Yoga improves overall well-being, far beyond the physical realm.
- Yoga helps you improve your life, wherever you are. Whether you’re coming to yoga to relieve back pain or decrease stress, yoga provides instant benefits. One class can begin a powerful life transformation that increases your happiness.
Whether I’m teaching you in a group class or in a private yoga class in Alexandria, VA, you’ll receive clear guidance for your practice that results in more peace, energy and empowerment when you step off your mat.
