5 Online Yoga Teachers I Recommend

Alexandria, VA yoga

Online yoga is such a convenient way to integrate yoga into your daily life. With “5 minute yoga” videos available in a quick search, you can do yoga anywhere, anytime, with customizable selections ranging from standing yoga, to yoga in bed.

I love taking Alexandria, VA yoga classes in person, but sometimes on busy days, I cue up a digital video to do yoga at home for convenience. The following are five yoga instructors I recommend, in case you’re starting an online yoga video journey.

1. Yoga With Adriene

Alexandria, VA yoga

Adriene Mishler, the namesake of the Yoga With Adriene brand, is one of the top online yoga instructors. She dominates YouTube yoga channels because of her:

  • Wide variety of classes: Adriene creates playlists where you can find yoga videos based on duration, style and target areas you want to work.
  • Peaceful energy: Often, Adriene’s dog makes a cameo in her videos, which is absolutely adorable. She brings a compassionate approach to her teaching style, making her a great instructor for beginner yogis.
  • Clear instruction: Adriene’s cues are simple and easy to follow. I always feel safe when I’m taking her classes.

If you’re new to yoga or online yoga, I’d search her channel for a video based on an area of the body you want to work, and start there. Her soothing teaching style and clear guidance may keep you coming back.

2. Yoga With Kassandra

Alexandria, VA yoga

I first encountered Kassandra Reinhardt through a yoga course I took on DailyOM, which you can now get for yourself here. I was impressed with Kassandra’s advanced instruction (if you love arm balancing, she’s got you!) and also appreciate how much she offers when it comes to yin yoga, a style I really enjoy.

Kassandra’s YouTube page, like Adriene’s, has dozens of free yoga videos segmented into helpful categories. Her energy is calm, but her instruction challenges you to go new places in your yoga practice.

3. Sadie Nardini

Sadie Nardini is another yoga instructor I found through DailyOM. I became a fast fan of hers and later learned one of my Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) instructors had learned from and worked with her, which means my lineage includes Sadie now!

You can find Sadie’s free yoga videos by searching “Sadie Nardini yoga” on YouTube. I like her yoga teaching style because it’s challenging but accessible. I’d recommend her for yogis with moderate experience who want to work on their form.

Sadie currently focuses on how to “age fiercely”, with her free YouTube videos focusing on topics like face and neck exercises, facial massage and skincare. She has a paid face yoga course on DailyOM which I enjoyed, as well.

4. Danielle Collins

Speaking of face yoga, Danielle Collins has a ton of free videos for facial exercises that can help you reduce fine lines and wrinkles and boost collagen production. She offers facial exercises you can do while you’re watching TV or bored in line at the grocery store. She also provides tips on making skincare more effective through simple facial massage techniques.

I believe face yoga has a ton of potential for yogis who want to take great care of their skin naturally, without resorting to needles and medical procedures. The face has 30 muscles on each side, and working them out through face yoga techniques can help you retain vitality from the inside-out.

5. Greta Dopp

Alexandria, VA yoga

I’m a Peloton user, so even though it’s hard to find free videos for this final online yoga instructor, I wanted to include my current favorite Peloton yoga instructor for other Peloton users. I’ve tried multiple yoga classes from every Peloton instructor, and Greta is my most sought-out instructor. I place her at number one out of Peloton yoga instructors (other faves include Nico Sarani and Kirra Michel) because:

  • Her flows are creative and fun. Greta spices up your favorite yoga poses with new movements that make classic poses more interesting.
  • I love her energy. Greta is positive, encouraging and playful. She makes sure the mental health aspect of yoga is a priority in her classes, with motivating messages that support yogis throughout the class.
  • Her music choices are beautiful. I’ve Shazam’d so many of the songs from her yoga classes. As an electronic dance music fan, I find her playlists to be my favorite among Peloton instructors.
  • Her sequences are challenging. Greta is an accessible teacher for advanced yogis who want to mix up their practice with innovative sequences and more advanced postures in heart-pumping flows.

Greta also teaches Pilates and yoga sculpt classes. Her energy is what I try to emulate as a teacher myself, and that’s why I wanted to include her on this list of digital yoga teachers. You can see parts of her flows for free on her Instagram page.

Who Are Your Favorite Online Yoga Teachers?

This is just a short list of yoga teachers you can find online when you want to squeeze a practice into your day. Instagram is another great source of inspiration, as lots of yoga teachers post mini-flows or break down full flows on their Instagram pages.

I love this, thank you for making and sharing this list. I practice primarily in studios and am reluctant to try online because I don’t know where to start. I’m sure there are plenty of lists like this on the internet but I trust your judgment so this will be a great resource for me.

    1. Ashley, thank you so much for your comment! I really appreciate your readership. Be sure to tell me what you think if you try any — you could start with a 5-minute class from either of the first two on this list and go from there. Happy practicing!
